Based on my limited knowledge, I can safely say that most Chinese anime tend to cover issues we deal with in daily life while Japanese anime are wildly creative, quirky and sometimes eccentric even. Japanese anime is often surreal. Also I feel like a lot of Chinese anime tend to adapt a more vibrant art style.
